Occupational Therapy for Children
What We Do?
We are a mobile, specialised occupational therapy service for children aged 0-12yrs. Our service provides evidenced based interventions for children with cerebral palsy.
Therapy Specialties
Modified Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (mCIMT)
This therapy prompts the use of the affected arm by limiting the use of the unaffected side. The aim is to increase the awareness of the affected upper limb, specifically in unilateral cerebral palsy/ hemiplegia.
Goal Directed Training (GDT)
Involves a child practicing specific tasks that are needed for everyday life, which they find challenging. Goal directed training uses principles of motor learning theory and dynamic systems theory.
